Registration for Thesis

Registration for thesis is open only to final year students who have fulfilled the academic requirements of their programme. A student must complete and pass all prescribed courses and clear all financial obligations before being allowed to register for thesis.

• Only final year students are eligible to register for the thesis.
• The student must have completed and passed all required courses of the programme.
• All fees and financial obligations must be cleared before registration.
• The student must register their thesis topic with the faculty within the period set by the faculty.

The faculty is responsible for guiding and supervising students throughout the thesis process. It approves thesis topics, assigns qualified supervisors, monitors student progress, and organizes the proposal defence and the final thesis defence.

• Reviewing and approving the thesis topic submitted by the student.
• Assigning a qualified supervisor to each student based on the area of research.
• Monitoring the progress of the student throughout the research.
• Organizing the proposal defence and the final thesis defence.
• Ensuring that the thesis meets the academic standards of the university.

1. 1Select a research topic relevant to the field of study and submit it to the faculty for approval.
2. 2After topic approval, the faculty assigns a supervisor to guide the research.
3. 3Prepare a research proposal and present it at the proposal defence.
4. 4Conduct the research and collect data under the guidance of the supervisor.
5. 5Write the thesis following the university's required format and structure.
6. 6Submit the completed thesis to the supervisor and the faculty for review.
7. 7Defend the thesis before the examination panel at the final thesis defence.
8. 8Make corrections recommended by the panel and submit the final approved copy.

Plagiarism is the act of presenting another person's ideas, words, data, or work as one's own without proper acknowledgement. Salaam University treats plagiarism as a serious form of academic misconduct, and any thesis found to contain plagiarized material is subject to rejection and disciplinary action.

• All sources used in the thesis must be properly cited and referenced.
• Copying text, ideas, or data from any source without acknowledgement is prohibited.
• Submitting work done by another person as one's own is considered plagiarism.
• A thesis found to contain plagiarized material will be rejected and the student subjected to disciplinary action.
