We Welcome Transfer Students
Salaam University accepts transfer applications from students enrolled at or graduated from recognised institutions. Credits earned at your previous institution may be recognised, allowing you to continue your studies without repeating completed coursework. Each transfer case is evaluated individually by the relevant Faculty Dean.
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled at, or a graduate of, a recognised higher education institution in Somalia or abroad
- Completed at least one full academic semester (or equivalent) at the previous institution
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (or equivalent grade) at the previous institution
- Academic transcript showing all courses studied and grades received
- A letter of good standing or no-objection letter from the previous institution
- Met the general SU admission requirements for the target faculty

Transfer Process
Collect the transfer application form from the Admissions Office or request it via email. Fill in all sections and attach the required documents.
The relevant Faculty Dean reviews your previous courses and determines which credits can be recognised toward your SU programme. This process takes up to 10 working days.
You will receive a written admission decision confirming acceptance, the semester you will be placed in, and any conditions attached to the transfer.
Upon acceptance, pay the registration fee ($50) and complete your enrolment at the Registrar's Office before the semester start date.
Important: Credit recognition is never guaranteed. The Faculty Dean has sole discretion to determine which credits, if any, are transferable. Courses that do not match SU programme requirements in content or level will not be recognised. You will be notified of the outcome in writing before you enrol.
