A Message From Leadership

Welcome to Salaam University

Education is the most powerful tool we can use to change the world — and at Salaam University, we are committed to placing that tool in the hands of every Somali student who seeks it.

It is my special honor and privilege to address and welcome you all to the graduation ceremony of Salaam University. At the beginning, I would like to thank our distinguished guests for their time of attending this memorable occasion. I would also like to extend my heartiest and warmest congratulations to all graduates, their parents and guardians, as well as the Board of Trustees, University Executive Board, all staff members and lecturers for their hard work and sacrifices, without which, this event would not have been possible.

Today is a day of celebration and joy, it is the outcome of every student's academic record, but it is more importantly a time to reflect on student's achievements and future career. As you graduate today, please take time to thank those who have stood by you — lecturers, University staff, parents and even friends. This graduation is about your achievements, but also about the people around you, and your success is their success.

Our University makes a significant contribution in building student's knowledge, skills and intellectual capacity. We are proud of you being a part of so many alumni and ambassadors who have positively made and continue to make their mark in both the private and public sectors of our nation.

Salaam University was founded by a group of Somali scholars in 2009, and it is a progressive institution for providing higher education in Mogadishu, Somalia. Since its beginning, SU has been committed to increasingly develop its brand to offer excellent academic programs of undergraduate and diplomas across 8 faculties designed in a manner to meet the demands and needs of the society.

I am also grateful to the great research projects that will hopefully steer graduates to propose feasible solutions to solve socioeconomic problems. I am confident this will inspire graduates to become agents of change in society and lead the country to much needed socioeconomic development.

Finally, I take this opportunity to congratulate you once again on your graduation and I request you to uphold the ethical values acquired from Salaam University. I would like to wish you a bright future.

May Allah bless you all with success in your future endeavour.

Thank you all.

With warm regards,

Ahmed Mohamed Farah
