Agriculture is the major source of agro-economic and livelihood for the majority of Somali people. Since Somalia requires good agricultural policy to promote technology transfer and improve local agricultural productivity for both small and large-scale farmers, and the country requires reflective efforts to formulate food self-sufficiency policies by raising domestic development for the major food staples, transferring technology, mobilization of human and natural resources that really industrializes the agricultural sector. The agricultural sector and the country’s economy can be improved to a better agricultural value chains and can also be advocated and managed by creating conducive environment for all stakeholders.  

Thus, the Agriculture faculty is therefore committed to academic excellence, provides students with practical trainings, and strengthens their research efforts through experimental farms, and then faculty of agriculture at Salaam University academically offers bachelor programs of agriculture (B.Sc. Hons). Agricultural Sciences (Four years Degree) in which the students have to study fifty seven courses.

The faculty has its own tentative area and access to different forms to conduct research at undergraduate students. The faculty has also spacious classrooms with well equipped undergraduate research laboratories.
